2.) Then, each band will be split into "sectionals" - saxes/reeds, trombones, trumpets, and rhythm sections -- where each section will then receive mentoring from the appropriate clinician. After sectionals, there will be a break for the students and a working session for the bandleaders and clinicians. This will provide an opportunity for frank discussion about existing challenges and opportunities for improvement.

Each bandleader will pair up with a master musician for an intensive band rehearsal session of the piece that was performed earlier in the day.
4.) Then, with all bands reunited, each band will perform that same piece once more so that progress can be demonstrated and positively reinforced. Unlike other music festivals, there will be no winners declared or awards given. Music is not a competitive sport.
